How to avoid the on-line Zoom meeting “head-in-the-box” view. Imagine attending a virtual conference and all you see is the speakers head for 45 minutes straight. – it’s not only boring but generates fewer innovative ideas!
Researchers revealed that the typical narrow on-line screen view – with only the speaker’s head showing – during virtual meetings can inadvertently restrict cognitive processes and collaboration.
It’s the opposite of what you want – a narrow on-line screen view has an adverse effect on generating diverse and innovative ideas.
Know how to create and support an environment that inspires creativity and ideation – just like an in-person interactions, allowing for wider engagement, and more expansive thought process to undertake collaborative tasks.
Imagine delivering a virtual presentation or meeting just like in-person.
Tip #1: Create a space – just like a studio – that you can stand, sit, move and use technology to engage people –
You can stand and use a Vibe board to illustrate an idea or generate questions.
- Vibe Board is an interactive All-in-one white board for collaborative workspaces - just like in-person.
This flexibility allows the speaker to Amplify their message with body-gestures, voice, and a presence.
Looking down at your laptop camera with your “head-in-the-box” view is now “old school.”
Turn your on-line meetings into conversation that you have just like in the presence of your clients and colleagues – to create connection and engagement.
